Turquoise + Silver Bolo Tie by RLB

Robert and Bernice Leekya

Turquoise Cluster Sterling Silver Vintage Bolo Tie by Zuni Pueblo American Indian power-couple Robert and Bernice Leekya. They come from the Leekya Deyuse and Ondelacy/Quam dynasties of the Zuni nation, both families being luminaries in their craft.

Leekya Deyuse is Robert's father, both are known for the artistry and quality of craftsmanship employed to produce these exquisite pieces.  Leekya Deyuse is known primarily as a master fetish carver but he also produced work in silver, mostly now held in museums or selling for 5-6 figures.  Robert is known for his gold and silver mastery and use of the very best turquoise.

Bernice comes from the Ondelacy family, another Zuni dynasty whose jewelry is highly prized and also in museums.  Alice Quam, known for her petite-point turquoise lapidary work is Bernice Leekya's sister with Warren and Doris Ondelacy being parents of both women. All amazing jewelry makers and highly collected to this day.
