Single Strand of 200-300 year old Glass Trade beads, originating in Venice or less often France.  

The beads are bright Red with White Hearts (or centers) and strung without a clasp on a natural fiber cord and is slipped easily over the head.

Trade beads were used as currency by the European traders that came to the New World to seek their fortunes.  Bright and shiny they hold a valued mystique to this day. 

Approximately 24" long

This strand was worn by one of Gretchen Jones' models during her evocative AW12 New York Fashion Week Presentation in February 2012.  Styled brilliantly, Gretchen's collection came alive in the dramatically lit medicine wheel stage, setting a gorgeous canvas for simple pieces like this necklace...
