Dali Woodblock from Divine Comedy I



Original Salvador Dali woodblock print from the Divine Comedy series he did in the 1960's.  Dali first produced this series in watercolor and then carefully supervised a famous French print house in making the woodblocks and printing the editions.
Titled Archangel Gabriel, his staff raised and body poised in front of Dante in a robe. 
Labeled by the Salvador Dali archives in NYC on the back of the frame showing it is from the 1964 edition, unsigned. 
Authenticated by Albert Fields on the back of the frame with a letter, which is provided here. 
25.5" L x 1.25" W x 25.5" H
Ornate gold frame.
