Antique Flat Pima Basket

American Indian Artist

Beautifully woven flat basket tray by the Pima tribe of Arizona.

Undecorated, this likely dates to the turn of the 19th Century for utilitarian use.

The Pima American Indians have been weaving baskets for thousands of years for gathering, storage, and ceremonial use but do so no longer to any notable extent.

Good condition with some discoloration, would make an elegant pad to rest a figurines or perhaps a vase upon.
