1940s Natural Dye Revival Navajo Rug

Beautifully woven Navajo textile from the early 1940s period when natural dies came back into use, typified by the golden and grey hues in this piece.

Striped with golden mustard yellow, and natural black, cream, and grey (which is produced by hand carding black and white wool together). Pink selvedge cord is also naturally derived dye and commonly used in this period.

24" long by 24" wide

Ruby uses this on a library table in her living room.  Shiny black Santa Clara pottery and framed photos of her loved ones atop the weaving, the texture and colors beautifully complimenting her decor...
