1930s basket from the Tohono O'odham of the American Southwest, formerly known as Papago, who have been weaving baskets for thousands of years for everything from gathering and storing to cooking. 
This piece is practical and beautiful, ready to be used to store keys, bills, or other modern clutter.
One broken stitch at rim otherwise in excellent condition.
